Acoustic Design Case for a Pharmaceutical Company

Project Overview

A pharmaceutical company currently has a significant amount of noisy equipment in the Roots fan room, sewage treatment station, boiler area, and Workshops #1, #3, and #4, which has a certain impact on the normal production of workers in the factory.

Design Principles

This design scheme strictly adheres to relevant environmental protection regulations; noise control considerations prioritize ensuring that all indicators meet the design requirements after noise control.

During the design, strives to preserve and utilize existing equipment, structures, and other resources without considering equipment relocation. The goal is to avoid affecting the normal working conditions and maintenance of the equipment, ensuring convenient installation and easy maintenance.

Considering the specific circumstances and characteristics of this project, mature and reliable processing techniques are employed, balancing practicality and advancement, with a primary emphasis on practical reliability.

Materials used are innovative and environmentally friendly, with aesthetically pleasing exterior design and convenient maintenance. The aim is to guarantee noise reduction effectiveness while minimizing the footprint and saving on project investment.

Noise Source Testing and Analysis

Main noise sources include:

(1) #1 Workshop

Main noise sources affecting workstations: reaction vessels, motors, horizontal rotation assembly lines, ultrafiltration membrane equipment, with maximum noise values reaching 81.5-85dB(A). Some equipment, such as the horizontal rotation assembly line and ultrafiltration membrane equipment, was not running during testing, but on-site communication indicates that these devices generate high noise values when operational, significantly impacting the workshop's acoustic environment.

(2) #3 Workshop

Main noise sources affecting workstations: crushers, pump machines, MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression), circulating pumps, fans, membrane concentration, tanks (with motors), filters, crystallization stirring tanks, vacuum tanks, ion exchange column motors, and press filters. Some equipment exceeds noise standards, with noise values ranging from 87.6-99.8dB(A).

(3) #4 Workshop

Equipment includes instantaneous sterilizers, tanks, grinding and sieving machines, granulators, sieving machines, pulverizers, mixing chambers, spray-drying chambers, drying machines, electromagnetic valve equipment, among others. Notably, the granulator produces noise value at 93.6dB(A), the pulverizer at 98.5-100.8dB(A), and the sieving machine at 84.7dB(A).

(4)Outdoor Equipment in the Plant Area

Main noise sources affecting the northern boundary acoustic environment include the Roots fan room, 2# physicochemical reaction tank, press filter workshop, boiler room, and exhaust treatment fan. The Roots fan generates noise values between 85.5-101.2dB(A), while the exhaust treatment fan produces a noise value of 102.5dB(A).
